This is a cheap, entry-level P & S. If you can afford to replace in 6 months or less when it breaks - go ahead. Kodaks are total POS ... I worked in a store selling these things for 6 years and have been Kodaks # 1 in the top 3 again to break, not working, or simply have horrible quality. Spend some money and get priced Nikon or Canon, it will last longer and give much better result. As for batteries ... follow these steps: Slide the battery cover open remove the batteries, install new batteries. It's like putting batteries in any other piece of electronics.
