Nikon D50 with zoom lens and wide angle.Best mode of action to take pictures w / out flash? Go on a dolphin cruise?

Tonight I'm going on a cruise dolphins. I wonder what camera settings should be on. I have a Nikon D50 with the two included wide angle lens and a zoom lens. What Values must be in my camera? How can I get good action photos. This will not be dark, but the lighting of my being a bit weak. I would like the Most photos of the dolphins without flash .. How can I do that without it being blurry? Anything would be very useful, thanks! Forget the wide angle and focus on tele-zoom lenses. The more zoom the better. I will assume its long zoom and is 200 mm or 300 mm in the long end. I recently went on a small boat to see offshore marine life and captured some images of Nice otters and sea lions with a 400mm. The problem with the dolphins (I missed many) were not "pose" as a marine park and are constantly moving.
