Looking for a good set of lenses for my Canon 10D is better and why?

I am an amateur photographer, but do not see myself as a professional. I am not sure which of these two sets of lenses are best for my Canon 10D. Which ones are better and why? I have an option to purchase these 2 objectives: Sigma 28-70mm f/2.8-4 DG High Speed Zoom Lens with 1 Year USA Warranty Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 DG Macro Zoom Lens with 1 year warranty USA or Tamron Autofocus 28-80mm f / 3.5-5.6 Aspherical Autofocus zoom lens The Tamron 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di LD Macro Autofocus Lens.

i have 3 Sigma lenses & they r great ... can not say it better that Tamron lens ((coz i did not try it )).... if we take a look to the sigma ((28-70mm f/2.8-4)) ... It has a maximum aperture wonderful ((2.8 to 28 mm and 4 to 70 mm)) is something good if u want to get more light ur image in low light .... good luck.

Edgar Degas painted from photos: painter Degas became just the beginning of photography. He first had to take other photos him for his use in his paintings. Later he became an expert photographer. Degas Paintings "show the influence of photography in the cut figures. Before Degas, any person was inside the table. In many of Degas' work, the figures are cut in half leg or their numbers are cut left, right and top edge of the painting. This crop came from its reference pictures.

Photos were an instrument in his paintings, drawings and sculptures. Photographs by Degas had the look of his paintings. His paintings are based on his photographs.

Students ask me if it is good to use photos: I have a classmate from art school which I graduated. He had a distinguished career painting his whole life. He said anything thata you do to help you develop a painting is a correct method.

Seven ways to or transfer photos or designs on your canvas: Â

1.A Tack them on your easel for reference: There is a famous Norman Rockwell Self-Portrait (Google it). The Rockwell painting shows himself painting an easel covered with photographs of portraits by Rembrandt and Van Gogh and a drawing of himself. Rockwell is also looking into a mirror as he paints.

Opaque Projectors 2.a: The opaque projector is machinea that projects photos, pages of books and drawings by shining a bright light on the photo above. A series of mirrors, prisms and lenses to project the image onto canvas. The artist then draws the outlines of the picture on the canvas using the projected image as a guide. Opaque projectors are available from Dick Blick, Jerry's or Artorama Mister Art Online or in some art shops.

3.A Camera Lucida: A camera lucida is a lens a metal arm that clamps on the drawing board to the artist. The camera lucida image superimposed on the drawing surface of the artist. We see a scene or reference photo on the drawing surface. You can then trace the contours of objects.

4.A Mirrors: David Hockney, artist contemporary well known, was interviewed on "60 Minutes" on CBS-TV. Hockney had Lesley Stahl stand outside his studio window, in full sun, facing a mirror set up inside the window. His image is reflected in the mirror and was thrown inside a dark studio on paintings by Hockney Hockney. That the projected image can then be copied. Hockney had written a book called "Secret Knowledge" which Stahl made interview. In the book David Hockney theorized that artists in the 1400s have learned to use lenses and mirrors to project their images on canvases.

5.A Print photo or a drawing on your canvas: You can print your photo on your canvas and then paint them in paint oil. Inkjet printer paper suppliers to offer inkjet printable canvas. You should ask your inkjet / linen supplier how long their inks last by scientific tests.

There are services that offer printing Giclee fine art reproductions for painters, photographers, galleries and museums of art on canvas. Some artists use these services to make reproductions of their paintings for sale plus sell oil painting original. Library (French for "a surge") is a process inkjet high quality manufacturing of super durable prints and long term. A good supplier uses fade-resistant inks or dyes, some say it will last as long as 100 years.

6.A Camera Obscura: In his book "Vermeer's Camera" Philip Steadman poses the theory that Vermeer used the first version of the camera: the camera obscura. Camera Obscura are the Latin words for a darkroom.

How the camera works Obscura:

• A box (or room) with a pinhole fronta in the end is placed in a well lit.
• The room opposite the hole will then be projected onto the inside enda back of the box.
• Later, the camera obscura evolved into what we now call a camera. In a camera, the film is placed on the back enda inside the box where the image is projected from the lens before the end of the box.
• Using the principle of camera obscura with additional lenses and a mirror, we can project an accurate image on a surface of paint and trace over the lines projected. Some suggest you can paint on canvas directly guided by the projected image. The People are still camera obscura ... Google "camera obscura" on the web.

7.a Tracing: Some artists trace the contours and transfer photos to their canvas or drawing surface. They staple together a "sandwich" of the picture drawn, a transfer sheet and canvas. Drawing on photo layout drawing on top of sandwich with a ballpoint pen causes the color transfer sheet to be transferred to canvas. They then paint By drawing transferred line as a guide on their web with the original photo (s) transferred along with their canvas as a reference.

The aid of photographs is OK? As Edgar Degas and Norman Rockwell and countless other great painters and illustrators, I think.
