DSLR packaging equipment for a camping trip?
I leave for a day: 6 camping trip tomorrow, and I just wondered if anyone has advice on how to pack the camera gear, for example, how would you package the glasses than mai extra things necessary etc. I'm already bringing a cleaning kit and a manual camera, and im just looking for useful tips that I could use to improve the packaging. I have a small camera bag to put kitchen. thank you po
If you use a backpack, I would put everything in the camera bag and put it in the bag at the top where it is available. Fishmeister idea for plastic bags is good. I've never had a problem shooting in the rain and both my camera and I'm soaked, but I do recommend my nonchalant attitude to someone else. I would take at least one (1) battery booster and at least one (1) extra memory. If you can, how many photos you take and do you plan on battery power and sufficient storage capacity for that. I wear two lenses for cameras APCS I use when backpacking. A 16-50 zoom and a 50-250mm zoom. This gives me wide angle for panoramic and a 400mm reasonable for shots of wildlife, etc. If you do not have one, get a polarizing filter. They are ideal for landscapes. They take the luster off of leaves, giving you more saturation in the colors and when the sun is about 90 degrees to the side that you pull your really pretty sky blue. If you are in a area where the rock formations are mainly granite and / or polished by glaciers a polarizer also reduces the luster of polished stone. This gives more details in the rocks and because they reflect the major areas of light, helping to increase the contrast and saturation of the entire image. Vast areas of thinking rock (large in terms of area under) does not create the flare, but to create a "veil" effect on the whole image. Keep your objective as used on the camera for both convenience and because the package with a target takes up less space. Hope that helps. Vance
