What is a Netbook

One Netbook (Internet and portable) is a type of laptop designed for wireless communication and Internet access. Netbook is primarily designed for web browsing and email. Netbooks are gaining ground in its compact design is thinner and more elegant appeal.

Netbook is a laptop with a low-power x86-compatible processor (compatible with standard PC software), screen small (not greater than 10 inches), small keyboard, equipped with wireless connectivity, light weight (less than three pounds) and generally with no drive optical. They sometimes have Solid State Drives (SSD) instead of hard drives, which are lower capacity but have no moving parts and should, in theory, increase battery life and speed. Laptops can run either Linux or Windows XP.

Why a Netbook

The question obvious is why someone buys a device with a smaller screen, slower processor, no optical drive when you can get a full laptop?

When it comes to a laptop, things that matter most are speed and convenience.A Netbook is more convenient because it is lighter, and usually has a lightweight operating system. The processor is not as powerful, but no treatment, much less to do with Windows XP or Linux to be usable.

If you're looking for a laptop to take with us during the trip, to check e-mail, chat on Skype, watch some videos from Youtube, take some notes, then a netbook is what we want. When, if we do intensive image editing, multimedia authoring, games, etc then a Notebook / Laptopi is more suitable for our needs.

Do not confuse these low-cost netbooks with some of the sub-compact also fully equipped Notebooks out there. Sony, Dell and others also offer small lightweight notebooks that have all the features of a full-size computer in a small package, but at a high price from $ 1400 onwards. Some of them have plenty of power and features up to 9 hours of battery life. These are the actual teams that are packaged in cases only really small.
