Cover to cover my gas cap broke> HELP?

the door of my top that hides my gas cap in my car broke. Now is still partially open, unable to close, and often remains completely open. Is there anything I can do to fix this? thanks. Chevrolet Aveo is a car early 2000.

Now that you have a big bag full of doorknobs head back into the house and grab a screwdriver. Instead grab 2 pieces of scrap wood, a 2x4 and plywood bolt together in a T shape.

You can now hold this until the cabinet door and the brand new holes will be. Trace the edge of the closet door in the plywood and then mark the hole drill locations on the template.

Drill screw holes in the hardware template you just made.

You now have a template that can be put in each door ensuring that cabinet each hole is the same.

Be ready to set the new hardware. Grab the drill and a bit small for the rider. When drilling pilot holes in wood not run the risk of fragmentation of the cabinet front.

The only thing left to do now is to connect all new door knobs.

Place screws through connecting the hardware and squeeze into the pilot holes.

Make sure not to over tighten the screws on everything you need to shoot for that is safe. Adjustment may distort the doorknob or strip the screw pilot hole.
