What is the best SLR digital camera to buy to take pictures in black and white?
all DSLR's (well, except for Sigma) work the same way. They have little more color filters of the pixels, and put them together mathematically to extract the full color and brightness levels of the image. So all color photographs taken in the same way. The short answer is to get whatever floats your boat DSLR (and the price range), then learn the nuances of B & W image post processing to achieve the desired look. There are many ways to work in photoshop and carefully create layers and adjust levels to generate B & W looks amazing. Just for fun, check out the "Filtered B & W" in terms of Picasa2 (a free download from Google). You see how different B & W image can look, just by the color filter before the conversion. For example, a red filter, B & W image will look dark blue sky, Red as there is little in a blue sky. There are some cameras that you can apply these filters to the image before saving as a B & W JPEG (like my Minolta A2), but above all, this is better left to post processing.
Digital cameras use a sensor known as CCD in order to convert light energy into pixels. The dust that accumulates on the CCD pixels can be in black or imperfections in the picture, since blocks light energy from hitting parts of the Convention. Let's review some solutions for eliminating dust on the CCD.
The CCD sensor is located behind the mirror reflects on a digital SLR camera. When taking a picture the mirror moves and let the light from hitting the lens CCD converts light a number of pixels that include digital photography. Most of the time the camera is closed and the dust can not penetrate it. Some cameras can not be completely sealed against dust penetration resulting in dust camerae body, even with the lenses installed. However, in most cases, most exposure to dust is when replacing the lens. During that time, the camera is open and exposed to air and dust.
In order to minimize dust on the CCD make sure to minimize the time the camera is open and exposed to air. For example, when changing lenses ensure that you are in a relatively clean and has the second lens at hand. Try to avoid changing lenses in the wind or dusty environment. Never take off the lens of a camera and leave the body open and exposed installation, whether other lenses or put a stamp on the body to prevent ingress of dust.
Even with careful attention to dust eventually find its way into the camera and the CCD. There are several ways to get rid of that dust. Depending on your camera some of them not available to you.
Elimination active dust:
Most new SLR cameras include some type of active mechanism for removing dust. The most common is the vibration to combat dust. This solution removes dust from the sensor for high frequency vibration for a short period of time. The vibration of the CCD will result in the fall CCD dust or a "dance of Waya" of the Convention. Different cameras turn dust vibration at different times. Some cameras turn that every time the camera is on, every so often and a bit off when the camera is on and when turned off. Other cameras turn the vibration periodically or allow the user to manually turn.
The cameras include an image stabilizer based on the movement sensor usually include also the vibration of dust, as they include the mechanical part: a motor that can move the probe and therefore dust vibration is a software plug simply.
Passive dust prevention:
Passive solution that seeks to eliminate some of the causes of accumulation Dust on the CCD. The main reason that attracts dust to the CCD is the static charge. Some manufacturers add an anti-static coating on the outside layer of the CCD (for Usually this is the layer of low-pass filter). By making the CCD is less likely to attract dust due to static charge.
Manual removal Dust:
Manual removal is simply a way to manually clean the CCD. When put in manual mode dust extraction chamber moves the mirror and keeps it in a position where the CCD is exposed and accessible. At that time you can try to blow dust off the CCD, for example, by using a blower air. You can also use special cloth diapers to clean the CCD, but be very careful to do so and be sure to read the manufacturer's instructions for how to clean without damaging the CCD. If youÂ're not sure how clean the CCD is best not to try cleaning, since they can be easily damaged.
All dust removal methods have limitations. Adhesive powder or other material is either very difficult or impossible to wipe clean. Completely removing dust from the CCD is impossible, but through the implementation of care and the characteristics mentioned most of the dust that results in imperfect photos can be avoided. To The casual photographer embedded in the asset or liability should be sufficient dust features and the manual cleaning is not necessary.
