What can I put on my digital camera flash to diffuse it when taking photos?
Normally, I would place a thin cloth or package gum on my little point and shoot flash, but I'd like to create a DIY filter that I can take on or off. I thought to attach anything I'm planning on using to diffuse the light with small Velcro strips. I thought that tracing paper, but will tear. Perhaps it would easier to transport than a few squares of paper with me? Ideas?
you can try using the tape (the semi-transparent one) - It sounds the easiest, I think that as an option for paper layer is rather thin, I think using the computer paper would be better.

I am quite passionate about the photography, and own several digital cameras and digital SLRs. I was in the market recently for a compact digital camera smaller when I did not want to exercise my digital SLR around. Previously, I had some good luck with other cameras Canon Powershot A590 IS and demand look like a reasonable candidate. In this review, I will try to adopt a look at some of the more advanced features and some of the basic features of the camera. Most cameras in its class, have a wide range manual functions. But the Canon A590 IS offers some pretty up-enhanced manual functions as well.
The A590 is a bit smaller than some cameras previous plan power model, and color a bit darker gray too. The finish seems a little more professional, and should stand up fairly well with occasional scratches and nicks.
Unlike some of its competitors, the image stabilization is no gimmick here. I was able to get nice clear pictures and concise, even when you're shooting several stops under the shutter speed preferred. The good news about this is it's quite possible to get within decent pictures without using flash cameras, even with 35-50mm F2.8 1 / 10.
I was very pleased with the photo image quality. An added bonus is the ability to manually adjust saturation, contrast and sharpness. Standard with many cameras and guns are the parameters of JPEG compression size.
One thing I complained a lot about the past, slow shutter response in many compact cameras. This is not really a problem with the A590. Surprisingly, for someone accustomed to the speed of a reflex that is quite a statement. If you practice a little and get the hang of Focus your photos manually, you can discover performance even faster shutter speed.
You are a real treat, if you 're the kind of photographer that enjoys fiddling around with the manual modes on your camera. The A590 features exhibits much improved over previous Canon PowerShot in set A. Including a light meter, which makes suggestions for the ideal exposure settings. The resulting exposure may be tweaked to adjust the aperture and shutter speed. The M-mode, is also much improved, largely through the meter.
The A590 offers some control of Nice when it comes to flash your camera. Excluding auto flash, there are three distinct levels of intensity Flash plus an optional pre-flash. If you happen to have an external flash devices from cameras, you will be able to use the equipment with the A590.
The A590 does not make the same mistake as many other compact cameras, and sacrifice the optical viewfinder for a bigger screen LCD. So even if you're in a situation where the use of the LCD is not a good option in the viewfinder will be useful.
You will not spend a fortune on batteries with this device. According to the manual, with a couple of AA batteries good, you should get up to 500 shots before during a reload. All in all, a very good value for money.
